ThetaPal ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ThetaPal web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By accessing or using ThetaPal, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide.

Brokerage Data

When you connect a brokerage account through our third-party provider SnapTrade, we access and store information about your brokerage accounts, including account balances, stock positions, option positions, and order history. We do not store your brokerage login credentials. Authentication with your brokerage is handled entirely by SnapTrade through their secure connection portal.

Usage Data

We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and the date and time of your activity.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To display your portfolio positions and account information within the Service
  • To generate AI-powered analysis and trade recommendations using Google Gemini
  • To improve, maintain, and optimize the Service
  • To communicate with you regarding your account or the Service

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ThetaPal:

SnapTrade — Brokerage data aggregation. SnapTrade securely connects to your brokerage and provides us with portfolio data. Your brokerage credentials are never transmitted to or stored by ThetaPal.
Google Gemini — AI analysis. Position data (symbols, quantities, prices, and expiration dates) is sent to Google Gemini to generate trade analysis and recommendations. No account credentials or personally identifiable information is included in AI requests.
Render — Cloud hosting. Our application and database are hosted on Render's infrastructure.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Sensitive data, including SnapTrade user credentials, is encrypted at rest. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may disconnect your brokerage account at any time, which will stop further data synchronization. To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@thetapal.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above, solely for the purpose of operating the Service. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

8. Cookies

ThetaPal uses essential cookies required for the Service to function, such as session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
